Aliya Mustafina is a real Tartar by nature - a very strong personality, nobody will manage her, it’s not possible with such a character. The biggest problem will be if they give too much power to the girl.

This person makes tons of interesting statements in this interview, but I feel like Aliya has become more responsible and cautious in her choices since her ACL tear. I don’t believe an unmanageable gymnast could ever be a good gymnast, let alone a brilliant one. 

Maybe Zaglada has this mindset because he coached in the days when the age limit was lower, so some of the younger ladies really did need more management when they traveled around the world for competitions.
